Welcome to Stoneleigh where once you get settled in, you might forget to go fish! You're welcome to rent a room or the whole house (enough to accommodate 13-14 people w/9 beds), as well as the Carriage House (it can hold another 4-6 people w/2 beds plus a fold out couch). If you need to take the chill off after a long day in the rivers-creeks-or lake, I have fireplaces in three of the bedrooms, as well as in the Living Room, Library (TV room), and the main Hall.
A continental breakfast is included in the price of the room, or there's a nearby diner for a big breakfast. Restaurants are nearby for dinner and libations. Or, you're welcome to relax with your own beverages and my bar-be-que pit.
I accept pets and credit cards and reservations are preferred but not required. |

“We always assumed that the Spruce Lodge was built around 1910, but we had a visitor here recently who said that his grandfather built the Spruce Lodge as his home in the late 1800’s,” claims Carol Huffman.
Guy and Alta Wescott purchased the Spruce Lodge in 1949. Their 8 children were old enough to be on their own, so Alta ran the Spruce Lodge as a tourist home for many years.
Carol Hoffman, one of their 23 grandchildren, bought the Spruce Lodge from her grandmother’s estate in 1986. A few of Carol’s cousins were running it as a Bed and Breakfast, so Carol continued to operate it as a B&B. It was important to Carol to keep the atmosphere at the Spruce Lodge the same as it was when she visited her grandparents, but some changes were necessary to keep the building up to date.
The guests who stay at the Spruce Lodge describe it as cozy and homelike, and that is the feeling that Carol is after.
With over an acre and a half of property, the Spruce Lodge borders a large pond at the back of the property. |
