The AuSable River is one of Michigan's most renowed trout streams that winds 180 miles east to Lake Huron. On the AuSable, you can expect to catch small to medium-sized rainbows, browns, brookies, and steelhead.   Stay in a quaint cottage located on Higgins Lake, a crystal clear, blue, deep, sand-bottom lake with over 10,000 acres of water surface. The lake is a recreational paradise of fishing, boating, sailing, wind surfing, scuba diving, water skiing, swimming, and more, and was ranked the 6th MOST BEAUTIFUL LAKE in the World by National Geographic!  The beautiful sandy beach has swim rafts, rowboats, canoe, paddleboat and kayaks. You can roast marshmallows around a campfire or in the large recreation room which has a fireplace along with game tables and self-serve bar.

West Branch

Clear Lake Resort
Clear Lake Resort is located is on Clear Lake, an all sports, spring fed, crystal clear lake that covers over 200 acres. Clear Lake is up to 50 feet deep, contains three islands and has a beautiful sandy shoreline. If you like to fish, the fishing is great! - You can rent one of our 9 boats fish off our 400 feet of docks for Walleye, Small Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Blue Gill and Perch. The lakefront property has 6 rental options. A gorgeous house (#1) with a fireplace, 2500 sq. foot wrap around deck and a 6 person outdoor spa. Plus five lake front modern fully equipped cabins with large decks (#2 - #6), sandy beach, two swing sets, horseshoe area, bonfire pit, 300 feet of lake front and a large grass yard. We also manage 2 privately owned homes, one is located across the street from the resort and beach (#7) and the other (#8) is 3 tenths of a mile west on a private wooded lakefront lot. Within walking distance from Clear Lake Resort, you can enjoy a great breakfast or lunch at the Slide Door Restaurant, stop in at the Clear Lake Party Store for hand dipped ice cream, bait and convenience items or go to the Clear Lake Bar for dinner and drinks. Other nearby recreation includes, Championship Golf, Outlet Shopping, Canoeing plus hundreds of acres of state land for Hunting, ORV & Snowmobile Trail Riding (ride legally from the resort to the trails, maps provided), Hikingand Cross Country Skiing.
